Letter: Lighten up, Pinetown

This week the Ward 18 Ward Committee reported 85 individual street lights which were out in 13 streets in the Pinetown CBD and Manors to the eThekwini Electricity department. Previously we’d reported over 200 lights but because we did specify the individual pole numbers, the complaint was rejected. We’ve since given up protesting that eThekwini Electricity should be doing proactive checks and in the interests of safety are getting the pole numbers and reporting them as requested.
Residents can help us get the job done more quickly. Pick a street the area and take a drive along it at night. Note the pole numbers which are not working and let me know at ward18@ethekwini.org or fax 031 277 1289 (or 083 7797 094 if you have no email or fax).
