very cool. also known as ‘stop motion animation’ – the techinique used for characters like Morph (the little plasticine guy that used to hang out with Tony Hart in that TV show). you can pretty much animate any object this way – but it’s a helluva task.

@Liz: Actually, that is a different technique. With ‘stop motion animation’, the time period between shots is variable and the trigger happens on demand. With ‘Time-lapse photography’, as the video above is a product ove, the individual photographs are taken at a specific, regular interval.
